my statement

Artist’s Statement

I want to be honest and just give all the credit to God.

The undeniable truth is that this world was not made on accident and that it was not formed to be taken for granted. I want to analyze the splendor of the world in full detail. Nature is why I became an artist. I have this desire to portray the details of things we pass by everyday. There is something about a plant you see one day that will never be the same the next. The atmosphere that it’s in will change it and it will bud, blossom, or wither at such a pace that we as busy bodies can’t stay to watch the whole transformation. I want a part of the memory of the present world to become something tangible. I paint because of the innate instinct of human nature to share stories. I want to share the story of God and all His creation, minuscule or grand. I’ve daydreamed in His creation far too long to be skilled at anything else in this world. Success to me is to place my audience in a state of awe that I feel when life’s ordinary walks cross paths with nature’s extra-ordinaries. And to capture such a particle of life through all our senses makes the process all the more spiritual. I’m just a mere tool with limited artistry compared to the original creator Himself.
